Alice in Borderland Makes Its Debut on Netflix Today

When I first saw that Alice in Borderland was getting a live-action adaption as a Netflix Original, I’ll admit, I was a bit skeptical. After reading some reviews and seeing the numerous trailers that have come out over the last couple of months, I think I can say that this is one of the Netflix Originals that I was looking forward to the most. I already know what I’m going to be doing this weekend aside from playing Cyberpunk 2077, as Alice in Borderland has finally hit Netflix’s airwaves worldwide today, 10 December 2020.

For those unfamiliar with Alice in Borderland, it is a live-action series based on the titular manga by Haro Aso that focuses on high school student Ryohei Arisu who is fed-up with how his life is going. A night out on the town is what he needed, but suddenly the town’s covered in fireworks. When Ryohei finally realizes what’s going on, Ryohei and his friends find themselves in a different world. They are now forced to participate in survival games or die. The story sees Ryohei and his friends fighting to save their lives and return to their own world.

I don’t think that there is any OTAQUEST staff member who isn’t looking forward to watching Alice in Borderland. My only worry is that I’m going into this with such high expectations that I’m going to be severely let down, but I absolutely love these alternate-reality style series. The fact that it’s about a game where you die if you don’t complete it is totally is up my alley.

If you’re still on the fence about it, make sure you check out our review for the series when it goes live next week!
