Nintendo Announces Limited-Edition Switch Hardware for Animal Crossing New Horizons

Animal Crossing is one of those titles that simply grabs at someone and wants them to give it attention, kind of like a puppy. Also like a puppy, it’s too cute to ignore. This also translates to the limited edition consoles it receives as well. Today, Nintendo has announced that they will be following a familiar formula and in a similar fashion that they did for the Nintendo 3DS XL will be releasing an Animal Crossing New Horizons themed Nintendo Switch console. Where the game might not be entirely new, the console certainly is.

With Animal Crossing New Horizons just around the corner on March 20th, it is only fitting that Nintendo announces a limited-edition console. The console will feature pastel mint and blue Joy-Con controllers, a special Animal Crossing pattern on the rear of the system, and an Animal Crossing New Horizons themed dock featuring Tom, Tommy, and Timmy Nook. The limited-edition console will be releasing a week prior to the game on March 13th so fans can get their hands on the machine before they get the game.

Now, currently, I own 2 Nintendo Switch consoles. One original launch day version and the Pokémon Sword & Shield Switch Lite. Seeing this Animal Crossing limited Nintendo Switch really makes me want to buy yet another console. I really am considering this. Frankly, with March right around the corner, it will be available before we even know it too. Pre-orders for the hardware have not been announced and it seems likely that it will be a first-come, first-serve basis.

As I mentioned, there is still a little time before the game and console release, so you have a bit of time to save up some money if you want to splurge on getting a limited edition console to go along with the game come March.
