Animal Crossing: New Horizons Bunny Day – Where to Find Eggs, Recipes, and Other Details

Animal Crossing: New Horizons Bunny Day

Animal Crossing: New Horizons has been out for just under 2 weeks at this point and we’re already beginning our first major holiday event. Bunny Day is an in-game holiday that mimics the Easter holiday, or at list its tradition of egg hunting and bunny imagery. There is a surprising amount to do as a part of this event, and it can be a little daunting to complete everything within the 12-day window given to you. This is also the first game in the franchise where time travel will only benefit you for a limited period of time as Nintendo is utilizing server-side commands to initiate limited time events this time around. To make sure you get the most out the event, we’ve compiled all of the information you need to know about Bunny Day in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

What is Bunny Day?

Bunny Day is an in-game event that can best be summed up as a scavenger hunt mixed with a collectathon. If you’ve updated your game to version 1.1.1 you can initiate the event by finding and speaking with Zipper T. Bunny in your town starting on April 1st. He tasks you with finding eggs of 6 different varieties (we’ll get to that in a sec), which you then use to craft exclusive furniture from recipes you can find in a variety of ways during the course of the event. You only have from April 1st to April 12th to find eggs & craft these items, after that point these items will no longer spawn. If you can manage to craft all of the different pieces of furniture from this event by the April 12th deadline, Zipper T. Bunny will reward you with an exclusive item.

What are the types of eggs and where do I find them?

Animal Crossing: New Horizons Bunny Day
There are 6 different varieties of eggs, and each is found by a different method. They are:

  • Earth Eggs – Found by digging up cracks in the ground.
  • Leaf Eggs – Found by shaking normal type trees with eggs growing on them.
  • Sky Eggs – Found by shooting down decorated balloons (not all balloons will award eggs).
  • Stone Eggs – Found by hitting your rocks with a shovel each day, they spawn at random with other materials.
  • Water Eggs – Found by fishing, they spawn at random instead of fish.
  • Wood Eggs – Found by chopping wood, they spawn at random with other materials.

There doesn’t seem to be a set amount of eggs that can be found per day from what we can tell yet, but obviously some eggs like the Leaf & Earth Eggs are visibly limited. Make sure to collect as many eggs as you can each day because you’ll need a lot to craft all of the different recipes!

What are the recipes and how do I find them?

Animal Crossing: New Horizons Bunny Day
There are 40 total recipes to find during the course of the event. You can obtain recipes in a variety of ways, similar to the other recipes you collect in the game. The different ways you can find them are:

  • Shooting down decorated balloons.
  • Collecting message bottles on the beach.
  • Talking to your villagers when they *ping* you for attention.
  • Collecting a lot of each type of egg.

It’s important to note that collecting a lot of each type of egg awards you with different clothing items, while the other methods give you furniture recipes. There are a total of 17 furniture recipes, and 3 different clothing items for each type of egg along with some Bunny Day accessories, and an additional “Egg Party” clothing set once you find all 6 clothing sets.

How do I craft the recipes?

After you obtain and earn a recipe you can craft them at resident services, or any crafting table you have placed on your island. Below are each of the recipes and their requirements.
