Sega’s Astro City Mini: Full Game Line-up and New Accessories

Promo image for Astro City Mini

Earlier this year, we wrote a piece about SEGA releasing a miniature version of their Astro City arcade cabinet complete with 36 different games on it. There were still many questions about the product, what it contained, and what would be available for it. If there is one thing about SEGA, is that they know that people like to collect their products, so now that we’re one day out from the release of the Astro City Mini, I thought it’d be a good time to look at everything that will be available for the miniature arcade cabinet once it hits store shelves.

Specifications of Astro City Mini

  • Puyo Puyo Tsu
  • Thunder Force AC

  • Golden Axe: The Revenge of Death Adder

The number of titles included in the console justifies the price of ¥12,800 (Approx $120 USD). The machine contains some of SEGA’s most legendary arcade games.

The one thing that we didn’t get to talk about last time was the accessories for the console and man, a couple of these really makes me want to go out and get an Astro City Mini just for the accessories alone.

There are three different accessories, and each of them has their own unique functionality. First up is the handheld controller. The controller can be plugged into a USB port on the back of the hardware which can be used while using the console on your TV via its HDMI out.

Next up is a full-size fight stick that is modeled after the original Astro City cabinet. Much like the controller, it plugs in via USB when the Astro City Mini is being used with a TV.

Last but not least is my favorite accessory: a game center replica kit which includes a stand for the Astro City Mini to sit on top of and a mini stool, giving you that old Japanese game center vibe.

The Astro City Mini and all the accessories hit Japanese store shelves on 17 December 2020, so if you’re looking to get your hands on them, you best hit your friend up who lives out here!
