I remember way back to the time that I was like 13 or 14 years old, I really wanted a G-Shock watch, but I’m going to be honest with you, I had really skinny arms and my wrists were not too big. So I did the next best thing that I could: purchase a BABY-G watch. Sure, at the time I didn’t know that BABY-G was the women’s spin-off for G-Shock, but I didn’t care, I was getting the watch that I wanted. Now I wish I could go back in time and take Casio‘s newest addition: they have announced a Pokémon x BABY-G collaboration watch, and it is absolutely adorable.
I have mentioned in the past that I am quite the fan of timepieces, and they don’t to cost thousands of dollars to give you joy. Sometimes, they’re just nice to look at, and sometimes they’re used to accentuate what you’re wearing clothing-wise. The new Pokémon x BABY-G watch is a fashion statement on its own. The watch is a Pokémon take on the classic BABY-G design, but with a nice pastel pink coloring with Pikachu silhouettes printed across the band. On the face of the watch, you have ‘Pikachu #025’ written on the right side of the dials.
The Pokémon x BABY-G watch goes on sale today, and there has been no announcement on an international release for the watch. If you’re a fan of watches, Pikachu, or Pokémon in general, you might want to try to reach out to a friend or a proxy to help you get your hands on the watch. It is retailing for a fair price of ¥19,800, which is more or less the standard pricing for most G-Shock or BABY-G watches here in Japan.
