It’s been a while since we’ve heard anything about BEASTARS season 2. Aside from the announcement at the end of season 1 and the confirmation that it would be coming in January, nothing. Zilch. Nada. Luckily, the end of the original manga in Weekly Shonen Champion on Wednesday brought with it a bunch of BEASTARS-related news, including a new key visual for season 2.
Hype has been slowly building for BEASTARS season 2 for a good while, and for good reason. While the first season had to contend with some iffy writing, there is no doubt that season 2’s ‘Murder Incident Solution’ arc is one of Paru Itagaki’s best. With this in mind, there are so many little touches to this BEASTARS season 2 key visual that fans of the original manga will enjoy.
Just from looks alone, this BEASTARS season 2 key visual is much more intense than ones we’ve seen in the past. Featuring Legoshi, Pina, Haru, Louis and others staring out at the viewer, this perfectly captures the intense, oppressive atmosphere of the Murder Incident Solution arc. There are even some parts that could be construed as spoilers: Legoshi’s face wound, as well as the inclusion of the Shishigumi and Louis. I won’t say any more, but fans of the manga will know what I am talking about.
The late entry of this BEASTARS season 2 key visual could, in turn, be a source of worry. After all, we are only three months from the anime’s January premiere, and we have yet to receive anything beyond a promotional image. While it is worth noting that the project has probably been in development ever since season 1 came to an end, previous material came out a long time before the actual release date. Here’s hoping that things are going well over at Studio Orange, especially considering the situation with the Coronavirus.
BEASTARS season 2 will premiere in January 2021.
