The first major music game arcade update of 2021 is upon us and it will be hitting Japanese arcades on 21 January 2021. The title that I am talking about is none other than SEGA‘s hit rhythm game Chunithm with the newest entry in the title being dubbed Chunithm PARADISE. Honestly, it feels a lot less than half of a year has gone by since we wrote our article outlining the release of Chunithm CRYSTAL Plus. Needless to say, Chunithm PARADISE is on the way and SEGA has shared a handful of details regarding the upcoming release of the title.
21 January 2021 will be the release of the newest update for SEGA’s Chunithm series, and with each version of the game, there are a number of changes that come to the title in the form of new songs, deleted songs, new modes, and quality of life changes. SEGA has yet to outline the new songs that will be coming to the title, but they did outline the songs that will be being removed from the update, and fans of the KONAMI songs that were implanted into Chunithm will be sad as they have been removed from Chunithm PARADISE. The full list of removals is below:
SEGA also announced that they will be making some changes to the way teams are ranked as well by effectively doubling the number of teams that will get the special frames and coloring on their team name.
With Chunithm PARADISE right around the corner, it will certainly be interesting to see what other changes SEGA has in store for the update. SEGA has yet to announce if Chunithm PARADISE will be making its way to the recently released Asian version of the game, but I’m almost positive that it will hit there in due time, it’s just a matter of time.
