If you’re at all familiar with the Cowboy Bebop franchise, then you’ll undoubtedly remember it’s distinct and eccentric opening song. Originally composed by The Seatbelts in 1998, the series theme song ‘Tank!’ might have just found itself a new home. Originally uploaded by YouTube user ‘Jamesdesuperweeb’ on April 20, a video titled ‘Cowboy Bebop’s opening syncs a little too well with Persona 5’, showed that well, ‘Tank!’ just happens to fit perfectly over Persona 5. The recently released PlayStation-exclusive JRPG title is the latest mainline entry into the Persona franchise to be released by Atlus.
The video takes the game’s opening sequence and layers ‘Tank!’ over the top in absolute perfect sync. The uploader states that they took a “few creative liberties” to make sure that it remained in complete sync, but that mostly includes a short 5 seconds of the original video being cut. You can check out the video in full below, just to see what we mean:
Available now in both North America and Europe, Persona 5 is playable exclusively on PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4. If you’re yet to check out Cowboy Bebop, you can check it out on Crunchyroll, here. Both of the two are absolute works of art, and it’s more than exciting to see them merged together, even if only for a minute and a half.
