In light of new times, Crypton Future Media announced that they will allow content creators to monetize YouTube videos featuring Vocaloid IPs.
In recent times, there has been an ongoing debate about whether content creators should be able to monetize their content if they are using a third party IP. There have been many discussions going on regarding this topic in the gaming industry, with some of the companies opening up and allowing content creators to monetize their videos.
Crypton Future Media will launch a YouTube Content Creators program that content creators can sign up for. Currently, the new program will cover Hatsune Miku, Kagamine Rin, Kagamine Len, Megurine Luka, MEIKO, and KAITO, as well as characters from each software. On top of this, the company also lifted the restriction on creators from being able to join the YouTube Partner Program.
With these new policies, Crypton Future Media took a huge step in the right direction. Frankly, if it wasn’t for the community and content creators, I don’t feel that any of their characters and IPs would be anywhere near as successful as they have become. Now only if more companies would recognize this and jump on board.
