I spent quite a bit of time trying to think about how to do this article. One would think that reporting merch news is an easy thing, but sometimes you see something that’s so amazing that you can’t think the words to do the product justice. That’s exactly what happened when I saw this figure of Kurumi Tokisaki from Date A Live that got announced today.
I have been a closet fan of the Date A Live art since the release of the light novel back in 2011. There was always something about the art that drew me in, even if I can’t really put my finger on it. It’s the same thing with this figure. There is just something about it that draws me into it.
Enough of my babbling, here is what the official press release for the figure states:
From the popular anime series Date A Live comes a figure of Kurumi Tokisaki from Kaitendo. Kurumi’s graceful skirt has been sculpted down to the very last crease to create a sense of levitation. Her twin-tails are also sculpted, and her expression is carefully crafted to show off her charming smile. The cogwheel clock is boldly placed in the form of the Zafkiel, the Emperor of Time, and is richly decorated with gold to accentuate Kurumi’s presence.
The Kurumi Tokisaki figure goes on pre-order tomorrow 6 April 2021 and will cost ¥22,000 through Kaitendoh. If you’re looking to get your hands on this figure, you’re going to need to reach out to a friend or get a proxy to purchase and arrange shipping on your behalf.
