Hot on the heels of their EVATCHI announcement, Bandai is already at it again with a new Tamagotchi collaboration set to release later this year. Themed on the super popular Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba anime/manga, this model puts raising a member of the kisatsutai (Demon Slayer Corps) right in your hands.
Much like other Tamagotchi collaborations, this edition features a variety of different iconic characters for you to raise with a variety of outcomes based on how good of a job you do. Depending on how you raise your Kimetsu Tamagotchi it will evolve into one of several different characters from the series with options including 9 Hashira and even main characters Tanjiro, Nezuko, Zenitsu, and Inosuke.
Raising your Tamagotchi will follow the same kind of formula that the digital pets have become known for over the past 20+ years. You need to feed them when they’re hungry, and to train them you play one of 3 mini-games. Leaving your Tamagotchi alone can result in injury or even dismissal. Throughout the course of raising your Demon Slayer you’ll also be presented with story beats that follow the anime & manga.
The Kimetsu Tamagotchi will be made available in October and is being released in 3 different designs. The base versions, which will be available in stores, are colored & themed on Tanjiro and Nezuko while a 3rd model based on the Demon Slayer Corps will be exclusively available via Amazon Japan. All 3 are up for pre-order now, and it shouldn’t be too hard to find a courier that can get you one if you’re not based in
I’m already planning to buy into the Evangelion collaboration, and have the Eevee Tamagotchi that were released a little while back so if Bandai keeps collabs like this coming I’m sure I’ll be building a bit of a Tamagotchi collection without even intending to.
