Ever since I was a little kid, I loved LEGO or toys that were like LEGO. There was just something about the endless possibilities that you had with the freedom of making whatever your imagination could conjure up. Nowadays, I prefer LEGO that have clear instructions on what I’m trying to build with my four-year-old son, but none the less, LEGO are still a very present pastime in my life. When I first came to Japan way back in 2008, I saw these super miniature LEGO style toys called nanoblock that could be used to build so many different things. This coming April, their newest release is going to be hitting store shelves: the characters from Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba!
The nanoblock series of toys have been around for quite some time, and they come in a variety of shapes and sizes. Personally, I have about 25 different Pokémon that have gotten the nanoblock treatment and they make even more intricate models in the form of buildings and other world landmarks. The new announcement of the Demon Slayer line of nanoblock sees the cast of the series get miniaturized for your building pleasure. The figures that will be available are: Tanjiro Kamado, Nezuko Kamado, Zenitsu Agatsuma, Inosuke Hashibira, Giyu Tomioka, Shinobu Kochou, and Kyojurou Rengoku.
The Demon Slayer nanoblock will be released starting April 2021 but are available to pre-order now, and each character will set you back ¥1,700 (approx. $15 USD). The series was available for a limited time earlier in 2020 but sold out quickly, which prompted the nanoblock company to do a much larger scale re-release of the series. Collectors can get their hands on the series to add to their nanoblock collection, or fans can just get their favorite character and build them to their content.
