Fate/Stay Night: Heaven’s Feel Returns to Shadowverse with New Collaboration

Fate and the Cygames universes are generally seen as being at odds with each other, with Fate/Grand Order and Cygames’ Granblue Fantasy and Shadowverse games being high-profile competitors. Whilst Aniplex and Cygames have collaborated plenty of times before (Aniplex funded their Granblue Fantasy anime), I’d always thought of Fate as being the one thing that wouldn’t have a cameo in a Cygames property because of this competition.

With that being said, I was proven wrong in 2017 with the appearance of characters such as Saber, Rin, and Lancer in Cygames’ Shadowverse digital card game to promote the release of Fate/Stay Night: Heaven’s Feel I. presage flower. There must have been someone behind-the-scenes that asked “Doesn’t this look like we’re helping our competitor?” but it’s great to see these iconic characters reach Shadowverse, a universe where the crystals and magical circles of Fate/Stay Night feel right at home.

Now I’ve been proven wrong once more with a new set of characters to become available in Shadowverse from January 27 to February 27. This time, players will be able to get the following characters as leaders to promote the release of Fate/Stay Night: Heaven’s Feel II. lost butterfly (their classes are in brackets):

Gilgamesh (Forestcraft)
True Assassin (Swordcraft)
Rin Tohsaka (Runecraft)
Shirou Emiya (Dragoncraft)
Sakura Matou (Shadowcraft)
Shinji Matou (Bloodcraft)
Berserker (Havencraft)
Kirei Kotomine (Portalcraft)

Players will also be able to get daily bonuses just for logging in, such as emblems and card sleeves. There will also be missions for players to undertake that will reward them with existing cards like Witch Snap and Powerforge with Rin and Shirou on them respectively.

To find out more, feel free to visit the collaboration page on Shadowverse’s official website, here. You can also take a look at some of the videos they’ve uploaded demonstrating the leaders. I’m particularly a fan of Gilgamesh, who will just shower swords when he gets the chance to play a card. Your opponent will also have to look at his smug face for the duration of the match.
