Is there anything to say about Fortnite that hasn’t already been said? The game took over the world in 2018, and you can barely walk down the street without finding a shop with an advert for the game. Oh, and let’s not even get started on the sheer amount of kids wearing Fortnite t-shirts, or places advertising that they sell V-Bucks, the in-game currency used to buy costumes and emotes.
The game has already made billions of dollars, and that momentum is still showing no sign of slowing down. It doesn’t even matter where in the world you go, whether you’re in Europe, North America, Asia or any other continent (except maybe Antarctica but who knows at this point), you will be left unable to escape this battle royale phenomenon.
Perhaps, considering that, it’s no surprise that the latest tie-in to the mega-popular brand is a 4-Koma gag manga for Japanese kids magazine CoroCoro Comic. The series is being drawn by Naoto Katsumi and is set to debut in the February issue of CoroCoro Comic that releases on December 29 of this year. Naoto Katsumi most recently worked on the short Double Deka series for the magazine that concluded last year.
With only an illustration of the series’ main character released at this time, it’s difficult to know much more about what the series will be like when it begins at the end of this month, although considering the massive popularity of the game it’s based on, it would be highly surprising if this series failed to catch on and become a major success.
