FromSoftware & George R.R. Martin Team Up for ELDEN RING

Rumors have been flying around for several weeks at this point, but at E3 2019 it was finally confirmed; FromSoftware, the studio behind the Souls series, as well as the latest Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, have tapped the immense talent of George R.R. Martin for their latest title, ELDEN RING. Set to release on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, a release date for the upcoming title was not shared alongside an all-new trailer, but we did get some gorgeous grim visuals. Check that out below:

Created by the always-incredible Hidetaka Miyazaki, who is teaming up with George R.R. Martin, ELDEN RING might just be one of FromSoftware’s most ambitious projects to date. Following the recent conclusion to the long-running Game of Thrones television series in which George R.R. Martin wrote the original books, I’d imagine the creator might have a little more time on his hands. That is, outside the five shows he has in development at HBO and the feature projects, oh, and the short films. The title is being touted as FromSoftware’s “largest game to date”.

“Collaborating with George R.R. Martin to create the Elden Ring mythos has been a genuinely delightful experience and a source of wonderful inspiration,” said Hidetaka Miyazaki, game director on Elden Ring, in a press release. “The team is working hard to ensure that the world of Elden Ring will be a fascinating place for players to explore, filled with peril and wonder from its furthest reaches to its lowest depths. This is a FromSoftware title through and through, rich in fantasy and RPG action. We sincerely hope you look forward to it.” — via Polygon
