It’s been eight years since the Horimiya manga came out, and it’s had quite the run. And like all things long-running, it has finally reached its inevitable end.
This month’s GFantasy announced that Horimiya will see its end in next month’s edition of the magazine. The last and 121st chapter will have its first page rendered in color, and its manga art will be featured on the issue’s front cover. The manga’s illustrator Hagiwara Daisuke tweeted her response to the news, saying that she’s sad to see it go, but will do her best to deliver the goods.
Meanwhile, Horimiya’s anime adaptation has reached its first season’s halfway point, becoming one of this season’s biggest hits in the process. It will be one of the big anime taking the Red Stage in this year’s AnimeJapan, which will be on the glorious comeback after COVID canceled it last year. On top of this, the mobile app smash. has announced that it will play clips from the anime that feature original songs inspired by Horimiya’s characters. They have since gone ahead to drop a thirty-second snipped onto their YouTube channel for your viewing convenience.
You can expect the final chapter to drop on 18 March!
