There’s no doubt that JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind is the most stylish JoJo part – if not simply because it takes place in the Italian land of high fashion itself, then because of how many awesome collaborations have been produced as a result of David Production’s ongoing anime adaptation.
That anime adaptation is, however, coming to an end very soon. Perhaps now was the best time, then, for Premium Bandai to unveil their latest line-up of JoJo Golden Wind shirts and t-shirts that take inspiration from the story’s fearsome final antagonist, as well as the trials and tribulations that our protagonists have faced throughout their long journey.
Contains spoilers for JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind.
These Golden Wind t-shirts come as part of a collaboration between Premium Bandai and ‘tk.TAKEO KIKUCHI,’ an apparel brand mainly focused on men’s fashion.
Bruno Bucciarati is inspiring the first two shirt designs, which ape his own teardrop-accented outfit while featuring a zip motif, after his Stand ‘Sticky Fingers’ (AKA Zipper Man).
This design is available in both white and navy blue. As you might expect, these shirts are also zip-up – anything else would be an absolute travesty.
Aside from his outfit, Bucciarati’s spirit is also inspiring one box logo Golden Wind t-shirt design. The t-shirt features a logo with the words ‘DETERMINAZIONE’ (determination) and is again available in two colors, white and black.
Past Golden Wind shirts and apparel collaborations have given us plenty of Bucciarati-inspired designs, though. Why not give the villains a chance for a change? That’s where the Diavolo designs come in.
Diavolo and his ‘invincible’ stand King Crimson (AKA Emperor Crimson) are also inspiring this Golden Wind shirt design, which apes Diavolo’s own, unique pink-dotted hairstyle and feature tiny King Crimson faces.
This shirt is, once more, available in two different colors – pink and black. That being said, the pink really seems like the best choice to go with in order to evoke Diavolo’s character to the full.
Diavolo is also inspiring his own box logo Golden Wind t-shirt, but it’s definitely less heroic than Bruno’s. It reads ‘DESTINO’ (destiny) – signaling the mafia boss’ belief in his own destiny to rule over all others using his all-powerful King Crimson.
If you look closely at the box logos, you’ll also see that Diavolo’s unique hair color makes an appearance in the background, along with a tiny King Crimson face. You know – the one that sprouts from his forehead every now and again.
The fact that Diavolo is now being included in the Golden Wind shirt and apparel collaborations really does signal the fact that the anime is ending very soon. If, like me, that makes you a little sad, then why not pick up a little something to remember the gang’s journey by?
This Golden Wind shirt immortalizes the moment where Bucciarati decided to betray the Boss for Trish’s sake, as well as the moment where Fugo wasn’t able to bring himself to come along.
Such an integral turning point in the journey of Bucciarati’s gang is definitely worthy of putting on a t-shirt, but we shouldn’t forget those that we lost during that journey, either.
To that end, Abbacchio’s death at the hands of King Crimson on the island of Sardinia is also being immortalized in this Golden Wind shirt, as well as the gang’s vow to make his sacrifice worthwhile.
While I doubt these will be the last set of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind shirts we’ll ever see, with the anime adaptation drawing to a close very soon, you might not get many more chances. If you’re interested in picking any of these pieces up, they’re available for preorder via Premium Bandai now.
