Normally, when I post news topics, it’s usually about a product coming out, a new anime series being announced, or some sort of game getting a release, but what I saw today in the Shibuya Station with my own eyes was too awesome to pass up.
If you’ve been to the Shibuya Station before, you know it has a vast underground that connects various lines to the JR East lines that travel throughout Tokyo. I use this junction to get to the Toyoko line to go to Naka Meguro where the OTAQUEST office is located. Upon entering the station today, I was greeted by a crowd taking pictures of a wall only to find out that the entirety of the Shibuya Station underground has been taken over by Jujutsu Kaisen.
The area of Shibuya Station that the promotion covers is directly under the station at the A-8 Hachiko entrance, which connects the main Shibuya Station to the Toyoko line over in Shibuya Hikarie. There is a massive spread mural that depicts all the characters in Jujutsu Kaisen, and each of the pillars in the station is covered with art from the series.
The main purpose of this promotional effort is for the release of the 15th volume of the manga.
There is no indication as to how long the mural and takeover will last, but past content similar to this usually lasted for a week.
If you just happen to be in the Tokyo area and are a fan of Jujutsu Kaisen, you might want to take a quick trip over to the Shibuya Station to check it out. It really is an outstanding installation and something that I’d recommend all fans of the series to check out if they can.
