Khara Shares ‘The Making of Evangelion 3.0+1.0’ Videos Online

Asuka from anime Evangelion

I’m honestly kind of surprised at how much behind-the-scenes Evangelion 3.0+1.0 content Khara has been giving fans. Today, they released a series of short videos on their official Twitter account that they’re calling ‘The Making of Evangelion 3.0+1.0 CG Making Movies’, offering a short glimpse into what goes into making the awesome scenes in Evangelion 3.0+1.0. They’re not long videos, and there’s no sound, but that doesn’t take away from the cool factor of it.

The videos that they shared show just how much work went into making a battle scene for the movie. You can see that by the time they rendered the actual film model, they already have over 15 different takes of the battle scene. Going all the way from a storyboard, to wireframes, to block characters, then to see it as a fully animated cel-based rendering is absolutely outstanding, and I wish more studios gave fans a look at the work that goes into making their favorite series.

Khara has been giving fans a bunch of behind-the-scenes looks and sharing a bunch of content related to the Evangelion 3.0+1.0 film since its release. I look forward to what they share next.
