Kirby Café to Open a Second Permanent Location in Hakata

Kirby Cafe Hakata logo

The loveable pink puff which can devour everything in sight is getting their second permanent café placement in Japan. This time in Hakata City in Fukuoka. With the first Kirby Café being placed in Tokyo a more central part of Japan, the new Kirby Café will cater to those in the southern regions of the country. The initial Kirby Café in Hakata was a pop-up location that was open from November 14th, 2019 until February 24th, 2020. They announced today that the café will be coming back as a permanent fixture effective March 12th. Kirby Café Hakata will be located in the Canal City Hakata shopping complex on the B1F level.

Kirby themed food & decorations bring the experience full circle

Customers will be welcomed to the store with a Whispy Woods décor, totally immersing the customer into the Kirby universe. Food is family-friendly and offers adorable stylizations of the Kirby family of characters. There will not only be the staple food items that were popular at the location when it was a pop-up shop as well as the popular items from the Tokyo location, but it will also feature items completely new to the menu. Some of these items are a Kirby themed curry meatballs and dessert pizza topped with fruits, complete with a limited-edition pizza plate.

As we have mentioned previously, the Kirby Café Hakata is set to open on March 12th, 2020 inside of Canal City Hakata. With this being only the second permanent Kirby Café fixture, it’ll be interesting to see what they end up doing with the items that are exclusive to this location or if they will be sharing them across the two permanent locations over some period of time. I’m also curious if there will be even more exclusive Kirby goods at the Kirby Café Hakata location as well as seasonal food items. Only time will tell, as the open date of the location is just a few short weeks away.
