Following the recent release of Kizuna AI and Dutch DJ duo W&W’s collaborative single “The Light“, I knew it was only a matter of time before I’d find myself writing about the Virtual YouTube once more. But while I lamented the times before big-name international DJ’s began working with Kizuna AI in my last piece, it looks like that feeling of a time long-lost wasn’t going to be a lasting one. Announced earlier today, Kizuna AI’s debut album “hello,world” is set to release on CD in Japan on May 15, 2019.
With a new release every week, there was an extended period where I found myself listening to a whole lot of Kizuna AI. But the factor that made each week so exciting was largely the inclusion of a different producer from all over Japan’s burgeoning electronic music scene. We saw club-frequent up-and-comers like Yunomi and Nor take to the CD, while established icons such as ☆Taku Takahashi and Yasutaka Nakata had their own contributions to make. For several weeks I was genuinely kept on my toes waiting to see what the next song would sound like.
Set to release in both a standard CD and a CD+DVD package, Kizuna AI’s debut album “hello,world” is set to contain 11 massive songs. On top of this, the DVD version will also include Kizuna AI’s performance from her Osaka live show at the end of 2018. The full tracklist for both of these can be seen below:
