In recent months, Jujutsu Kaisen has been growing by leaps and bounds. And with that rise in popularity has come the sort of merchandise, collaborations, and other spin-off items normally reserved for such anime series as Evangelion and Kimetsu no Yaiba: Demon Slayer.
On Thursday, street clothing brand LEGENDA Tokyo announced a new Jujutsu Kaisen x LEGENDA collaboration. This is not their first anime collection, as they previously created items featuring Evangelion, Ghost in the Shell, and Dragon Ball Z (also the Disney mobile game Twisted Wonderland). Some of their other regular designs have also featured anime-inspired graphics and images.
This collaboration was apparently created to celebrate LEGENDA’s 10th anniversary this year. The collection includes four long sleeve T-shirts, and four hoodies, featuring main characters Yuji Itadori, Nobara Kugisaki, Megumi Fushiguro, and Gojo Satoru.
(I can’t tell if it’s their website or my computer that keeps wanting to translate their names as ‘Tiger Canes’ and ‘Nails.’)
The items feature the character graphic art on the back, and an original logo on the front. The logo takes the collaboration literally by mixing together Jujutsu Kaisen’s normal kanji with the kanji for ‘legend’ and ‘Tokyo.’ There’s some other interesting stuff on the items, such as a QR code which you ought to be able to scan. But the online catalog picture is too fuzzy. You’ll have to buy the clothing to find out.
Pre-orders for the items will begin at 11 a.m. on Friday (Japan Time). They say that items will ship in late February or early March, depending upon production delays and the coronavirus.
