Tokyo-based skate brand Magical Mosh Misfits frequently show how to do collaborations right. From iconic brands like Santa Cruz Skateboards and Vans to properties like Evangelion and Spongebob Squarepants, they team up with properties that fans love and put their own immediately recognizable twist on them in a way that perfectly represents both. They’ve had a busy 2020 in light of everything going on with the world and even leading into the beginning of 2021, they don’t show any signs of slowing down with a new collection of SEGA items dropping on 19 December 2020.
The Magical Mosh Misfits x SEGA collaboration has been ongoing since the beginning of the year, and in honor of the game maker’s 60th anniversary, they have kept the goods rolling throughout. Featuring some of the company’s most beloved properties like Sonic the Hedgehog, Fantasy Zone, and Puyo Puyo, their range of items have covered all seasons and they’re capping off the year in style.

Kicking things off is a pair of shirts featuring Sonic The Hedgehog and Puyo Puyo imagery all slimed up in the MxMxM fashion. The long-sleeve Puyo Puyo tee is available in three colors for ¥5500 + tax, with the Sonic sweatshirt featuring two different print colorways for ¥8500 + tax. Both come in a range of sizes (Japanese standard measurements, of course).
Next up are re-usable bags featuring the same franchises. Two different colored Puyo Puyo bags will set you ¥2500 +tax each, and the 4 different colored print Sonic The Hedgehog shoulder totes will run ¥3000 + tax.
Lastly, they’re kicking things up a notch with a pair of skateboards emblazoned with their logo mashup images from both Sonic & Puyo Puyo. Either deck will set you back ¥9000 + tax, and are perfect for skating or display.
These new drops come hot on the heels of their last Sonic The Hedgehog and Fantasy Zone long sleeve shirt drops, both of which are still available on their webshop in limited colors and sizes. A lot of their products tend to sell out really quick, so if you’re looking to pick up, I would suggest figuring things out as soon as possible.
This may be the first time we’ve covered Magical Mosh Misfits here on OTAQUEST, but I assure you that it won’t be our last considering the consistency and quality of design. Going into 2021, we’re definitely adding them to our must-watch list to see what they come up with next.
