If you dig giant robots, you’ll be glad to know that an update to the two-on-two team battle action arcade game Mobile Suit Gundam Extreme VS. 2 will arrive on 10 March in Japan. The update will be called Mobile Suit Gundam Extreme VS. 2 XBOOST.
On Friday, BANDAI NAMCO Amusement posted to YouTube the adrenaline-flavored opening video for the game update, just to show how Extreme this XBOOST will be.
The Osaka-based band Crossfaith provided the hard-rocking song ‘Red Zone’ for the video. The music can also be used as background music during the game’s battles. On Friday, BANDAI NAMCO posted a message from Crossfaith vocalist Kenta Koie. In the video, Koie talks about the project, including how he has been a fan of Gundam since he was a child making Gunpla models with his father. He also says how making music for Gundam is just like a dream.
According to BANDAI NAMCO, the new update will add new Gundam vehicles to the already huge list of Gundam in the game (more than 150 of the giant things!). They also released a short promo video which shows off gameplay, and some of the changes that will be added to the game:
Mobile Suit Gundam Extreme VS. 2 XBOOST is just the latest update in a long line of Gundam fighting games. The new update celebrates the 10th anniversary of the Extreme VS. series.
