I love Crayon Shin-chan. There is just something about the minimalistic art style, triangle faces, and overall third-grade humor that I just can’t get over. Of course, there are the small minuscule blips of grown-up emotions and drama, but it never takes away from the feel-good concept that the show intends to bring. Mr. Shin-chan has had his movie theater debuts before, but this one, after seeing the trailer that was released for it today, made me really want to ignore everything about life and go see this movie, immediately. Unfortunately, Crayon Shin-chan The Movie: Mystery! Hana no Tenkasu Gakuen (Crayon Shin-chan The Movie: Wrapped in Mystery! The Flowers of Tenkazu Academy) won’t come out until 23 April 2021.
The new Crayon Shin-chan movie takes our rump-shaking protagonist Shinnosuke and his comrades to a new school full of technology and intelligence, but something strange is going on. Take a look at the synopsis for the movie:
Shinnosuke and the rest of the Kasukabe Defense Force are excited about school life after being accepted to a one-week trial enrollment at the private Tenka-Unification Kasukabe Academy, a super-elite boarding school controlled by AI. However, the atmosphere changes drastically when Kazama-Kun gets a mysterious bite mark on his rear-end. In order to solve the mystery of Kazama-Kun, who has somehow turned into an idiot, the Kasukabe Defense Force and the school’s failing student council president, Chisio (Atsukishio), form the ‘Kasukabe Detective Club’ to solve the mystery behind this mysterious case.
Now if that doesn’t sound interesting as hell to you, I don’t know what would. The trailer clearly shows that the movie has suspense, action, mystery, and most of all, Shinnosuke shaking his ass. The new Crayon Shin-chan The Movie: Mystery! Hana no Tenkasu Gakuen hits Japanese movie theaters on 23 April 2021. If you purchase your ticket prior to 25 December 2020, you get a present handkerchief that shows images of Shinnosuke when it gets wet!
