NIJISANJI Debuts Second Group of English VTubers in Rapid Fashion

Virtual YouTuber agency NIJISANJI has announced a second group of English-language personalities known as ‘OBSYDIA,’ less than two months after the debut of the first.

Much like the first group, the second group of NIJISANJI EN VTubers has three members and will debut alongside an original song titled ‘Black Out.’ It’s produced by Teddyloid, and fellow NIJISANJI VTuber Ryushen is credited with the ‘Lyrics story,’ so it’s quite a high-profile start. Nevertheless, this pushes the NIJISANJI EN project towards further resembling the Japanese side of the business.

One of the things that makes NIJISANJI stand out in comparison to its competitors, such as hololive, is the sheer amount of virtual personalities that it manages. As of the time of writing, that number is close to 180, but it wasn’t clear if this approach would be replicated in the English-language market. Given the pace at which these additional VTubers have been announced, however, the answer appears to be yes.

The members of the second NIJISANJI EN group are as follows: Selen Tatsuki, a ‘sky dragon descended from the moon.’ Then there’s Rosemi Lovelock, a ‘rose maiden raised in a beautiful garden.’ Petra Gurin, meanwhile, is said to be a ‘penguin who spent much time alone in the frosty sea.’ As you can see, the fantasy theme continues, although the lack of male personalities leaves the project dominated by women.

Selen, Rosemi and Petra will all make their debut this weekend, followed by a special program on the official NIJISANJI English YouTube channel hosted by the first group. With any luck, this might strengthen the ties between LazuLight and OBSYDIA, instead of making NIJISANJI EN as disparate and separate as the Japanese side…
