No, you’re not reading the headline incorrectly. Just a week and a half after ATLUS formally announced Persona 5 The Royal, a new Persona 5 site launched today. If you go to P5S.jp, you’ll discover a notice ‘knifed’ to the website that simply says “1 more information 4.25 Thursday”. If you remember from the Persona 5 The Royal teaser trailer, the next update about that release will drop on April 24, just one day before. A trademark for ‘Persona5S.jp’ had been registered for a little while, but the website counts as the first official use of Persona 5 S.

So, this begs the question; What is the ‘S’ in Persona 5 S? The website doesn’t say anything conclusive, however, there’s a hidden message in the source code. To summarize, we’ll be shown a ‘New Phantom Thieves’ and that once again our hearts will be taken at the Ryougoku Kokugikan. On April 25, a Persona concert will be held at the Ryougoku Kokugikan venue in Tokyo, it’s safe to say this is where we’ll find out more about Persona 5 S. All we can do until that time is speculate and hypothesize. Like any good Phantom Thief chasing detective, we’ll do just that.
A Persona 5 Switch port has long been rumored. Joker’s inclusion in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate acts as a near dead giveaway that this will eventually happen. Especially after Persona 5 The Royal being revealed as a PlayStation 4 game exclusively, at current time anyway, it’s not a stretch to think that Persona 5 S will be the long-awaited Nintendo Switch version. Though, it could be an entirely new game as could Persona 5 The Royal. We just don’t know right now. However, there are two different expanded editions of Persona 3 on different systems that have exclusive content in each. Would you put it past ATLUS to that again?
Answers for both Persona 5 The Royal and Persona 5 S will become available April 24 and 25 respectively.
