The five sisters of The Quintessential Quintuplets anime series will return on 7 January! On Thursday, TBS Animation released a promo video on YouTube for the second season of the show, which has been renamed The Quintessential Bride∬.
(Note: Yes, that weird ∬ is part of the new title, and is not a typo.)
The Quintessential Quintuplets anime is based on a romantic comedy/ harem manga by Negi Haruba, which ended with a time skip and a wedding in February of this year. We won’t spoil the ending here. But it’s safe to say that any choice will probably disappoint some shippers.
Since the very beginning of the series, fans have known that high school student/ tutor Futaro will eventually get married. And we know that the lucky bride will be one of the five Nakano quintuplets that he’s been struggling to help study. However, the first season ended without revealing exactly which of the five would marry Futaro. The twelfth episode includes a flash-forward to Futaro’s wedding, before snapping back to the present day.
Judging from the new trailer, there will be enough humor, romantic comedy, and sister hijinks to fill an entire season.
Besides the new trailer, TBS Animation released short PVs featuring each of the five sisters:
- Ichika (voiced by Kana Hanazawa) featured in the first one.
- Nino (Ayana Taketatsu) got the second one.
- Miku (Miku Ito) features in the third.
- Yotsuba (Ayane Sakura) has the fourth video.
- Itsuki (Inori Minase) got hers on Wednesday.
If you need to catch up with the series, the first season of The Quintessential Quintuplets is available at Crunchyroll.
