What do you get when you combine gaming gear company Razer with streetwear fashion company A BATHING APE? A Gaming Ape, of course. That’s what Razer and BAPE are calling their new collaboration! Razer teased the collaboration last week, and they provided more details on Monday.
Here’s the promo video that was released on YouTube last week:
According to Razer, full details on the launch of the collection will be available on Friday 4 December (Pacific Time). Razer will also have a RazerStore LIVE YouTube video on 3 December, with details on their offerings for the holiday season.
For the time being, we can tell you that the collaboration will feature ‘urban jungle wear.’ The goods will include T-shirts and hoodies with the clever A Gaming Ape logo: a BAPE ape wearing Razer headsets.
From the Razer end of the collaboration will come a mouse mat, gaming mouse, and headphones. Judging from the A Gaming Ape website, they will have the same funky black-and-green look as the streetwear.
Note that the headphones are apparently a version of Razer’s wireless Opus THX Certified Headphones. They will have Advanced Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) technology. The wired ergonomic mouse will have ‘a next-gen sensor, switches and lighter form factor.’ ‘Slay in dominating style with a weapon that handles like no other,’ the website states. The mouse mat is described as smooth and seamless, ‘with an aesthetic that’s just as slick.’
The collaboration will also include a backpack. BAPE already makes some cool backpacks, and this green one will fit in nicely with the rest of the A Gaming Ape collection. All things considered, the collaboration seems like a good crossover between two complementary brands. Incidentally, the collaboration is also multinational. Razer is Singaporean in origin; while A BATHING APE’s roots are in ultra-fashionable Ura-Harajuku.
