The Bandai Namco RPG Scarlet Nexus will get an anime series this summer.
Of course, the upcoming game already has a very anime-esque feel to it. So, it makes sense to turn this anime-style game into an anime series. Bandai Namco posted a short trailer to YouTube on Thursday:
Funimation announced on Thursday that it will stream the series in the U.S., the United Kingdom, Brazil, Canada, Ireland, and Mexico.
As described on the anime series’ website, the series sounds pretty similar to the game. They both feature a psychokinetic boy named Yuito who enlists in the Other Suppression Force. (The Others are mutants/ ‘grotesque organisms’ who eat people.) He is joined by a prodigy, Kasane. These two fight against the Others.
In the anime series and the game, Yuito Sumeragi will be voiced by Junya Enoki. Enoki was Nasa in Tonikawa: Over The Moon For You; and Yuji Itadori in Jujutsu Kaisen.
Kasane Randall is voiced by Asami Seto. Seto has been Nobara Kugisaki in Jujutsu Kaisen, and Raphtalia in The Rising of the Shield Hero. In the game, Yuito is the primary playable character, while Kasane is a second player choice with her own story campaign.
We don’t know too much about the Scarlet Nexus anime, but the game has an official cosplay guide. Sunrise (Cowboy Bebop, Gundam, Love Live!, Code Geass, etc.) will produce the anime series.
Plenty of video games have been adapted to successful anime series before, including Bandai Namco’s The [email protected], Nexon’s Kemono Friends, and Square Enix’s Dragon Quest.
