Sega Announces Sonic the Hedgehog Throwback Collection Vol.3

Sega’s Mascot Sonic the Hedgehog

SEGA has been on the ball recently with their streaming releases of past Sonic the Hedgehog songs on music streaming platforms. Today, they announced the newest addition to their streaming library: Sonic The Hedgehog Throwback Collection Vol.3 is now available on Apple Music, Spotify, Amazon Music, and all other major streaming platforms. The tracks are available worldwide, so you don’t have to worry about being locked out from any of them.

Sonic The Hedgehog Throwback Collection Vol.3

The release is part of the SONIC2020 project that celebrates the blue hedgehog’s 20th anniversary, even though he’s going on his 30th. Don’t ask me how that works, it just does. As with other Throwback Collection volumes, this one also includes four songs that have been plucked from history for your listening pleasure. Volume 3 doesn’t disappoint as the four songs included are ‘Gallery’ from Sonic Generations, ‘Fist Bump’ (Piano Version), ‘Believe in Myself’ (Acoustic Version), and ‘It Doesn’t Matter’ (Acoustic Version).

These releases make me so happy, both as a fan of the series and even more-so a fan of the music. I feel like the music in the Sonic series is some of the best video game music that has come out since I was a child (I’m looking at you Sonic 3). I really hope that this is something that SEGA continues to do, even after the festivities around the anniversary are done and over with.

You can currently stream Sonic The Hedgehog Throwback Collection Vol.3 worldwide on all major streaming platforms, including YouTube Music. Sega has been releasing a new volume every other month or so, so hopefully, we’ll get some more releases similar to this soon.
