One of the things that I’ve noticed about America since its inception of the product is that literally everyone and their Mother waits for Fall / Winter to roll around so they can get their grubby mitts on Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte, Eggnog Latte, or the Peppermint Mocha. It’s literally all I hear and see on social media leading up to Fall / Winter. Now don’t get me wrong, seasonal drinks at Starbucks are REALLY good. I understand this. I have a small obsession with Starbucks and you can probably ask any of the Tokyo staff members of OTAQUEST and they will likely tell you that I have an unhealthy obsession with it. But what I don’t get is the fact that people get so excited for the same drinks, year after year. Japan does it a little differently. Each year they have seasonal and Christmas specific drinks, but it’s a completely different flavor every year and this year is no different as Starbucks will be launching the Berry x Berry Rare Cheese Frappuccino starting on November 1st.
The Berry x Berry Rare Cheese Frappuccino is exactly what it sounds like. A mix of berries and berry syrup combined with rare cheese in a completely delicious frappuccino. Really what more could you ask for? A Pumpkin Spice Latte? Psh. But this year, they’re also adding a second drink to the Christmas menu and that is going to be the Macadamia Toffee Latte which will add to the 2 existing holiday flavors the Gingerbread Latte as well as the Winter White Chocolate.
With the holiday seasons right around the corner, it’s perfect timing for Starbucks Japan to roll out some new flavors to sit alongside their current Christmas fan favorites. I am looking forward to trying the new Berry x Berry Rare Cheese Frappuccino, and who could go wrong with a nice hot gingerbread latte if berries aren’t your digs!?
