Nintendo of Japan’s Nintendo Direct information had an extra announcement in revealing some details about Taiko no Tatsujin Nintendo Switch Version, which is slated for a summer release.
The Twitter topic post touts the game’s Joy-Con compatibility, which should break the barrier of needing to purchase an extra game controller specifically for the system. Diving into the game’s topics page, current media shows players can hold the two of the individual mini controllers and use the motion controls to hammer out the rhythms.
The video displays straight-forward flicks of the wrist striking the face of the drum, with more of a sideways flick striking the rim. By splitting up two controller sets, two players can simultaneously play the game.
The game is scheduled to release with the typical range of songs, including hit tunes heard on television, but Nintendo announced the Switch version will host “Jump Up, Super Star! Short Version” and a “Splatoon 2 Medley.” Also introduced into the mix will be a Party Game mode featuring the game’s characters in a variety of motion-based mini games.
