It was just earlier this week that we found ourselves covering the news that TORIENA was teaming up with Jun Senoue for the upcoming Sonic Team Racing soundtrack. Possibly one of the most exciting announcements of the week, at least from my perspective, we’ve now got a more in-depth look at just how that track came to be. Uploaded by SEGA onto Sonic the Hedgehog’s official YouTube account earlier today, we see a round table discussion between both TORIENA and Jun Senoue on the track’s creation:
If there’s any one thing that the Sonic games are particularly highly regarded for, it’d have to be their infectious soundtracks. Even when stepping away from their usual comfort zones and into the world of racing, we see Team Sonic again ensuring that this high-standard is met, quite possibly pulling this off in one of the best ways possible.
Between both TORIENA and Jun, we see both artists share their role in the creation of the songs, as well as discussing each other’s strengths. It’s a neat little interview, just clocking in at the 3-minutes 30-seconds mark, and gives a pretty good point of reference as to how both TORIENA and Jun actually go about laying down a track and pushing out a polished product.
Set to release worldwide on May 21, 2019, on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC via Steam, those interested in checking out further details on the upcoming Team Sonic Racing title can head over to the game’s official website.
