Earlier today Los Angeles-born, Tokyo-raised streetwear brand XLARGE announced several new collaborative pieces with Yoshihiro Togashi’s legendary YU☆YU☆HAKUSHO manga series. Set to be made available via the brand’s online store, as well as all locations across Japan from June 15, the collection includes several pieces including t-shirts and button-ups. For those out of the loop, XLARGE definitely isn’t a stranger to killer collaborations within the field, having dropped several high-profile anime/manga pieces in the past. Peek a few pieces from the latest collection below:
The collection will encompass a total of four t-shirt designs with several colorways available, as well as a three-colorway button-up. The bulk of the t-shirts you’ll see a merging of the iconic XLARGE logo with the cast, while the button-up features a full-back print of everyone, as well as both XLARGE and YU☆YU☆HAKUSHO’s logo on the front.
There’s a lot to be said about the influx of classic anime and manga that’s been the target for recent domestic and international clothing collaborations; sharp designs, clean edges, a developed legacy, the classics have it all. To see a fabled story like YU☆YU☆HAKUSHO receive such a streetwear collaboration with XLARGE is hardly a surprise. Some of my favorite net-age parody illustrations already see the series taken on in a way that is completely street-ready and ready to be printed.
Set to drop on June 15, those interested in checking out more on XLARGE’s upcoming YU☆YU☆HAKUSHO collection can head over to the brand’s official website.
