If there is one thing at OTAQUEST that we all love aside from giant robots, cool clothing, and good food, it is SEGA‘s Yakuza (Ryu ga Gotoku) series. The newest iteration Yakuza: Like a Dragon (Ryu ga Gotoku 7) is getting a re-release in Japan for next-gen consoles Xbox Series X and S, and PC on 25 February, and for Playstation 5 on 2 March 2021 with the subtitle International.
There are a number of changes that will be hitting the game for the first time in Yakuza: Like a Dragon International.
The International version is based on the overseas version of Yakuza: Like a Dragon and adapted for the Japanese market. It adds the PREMIUM NEW GAME and Super Final Millennium Tower that were previously available as DLC for PlayStation 4. The game also features improved frame rate and resolution, and shorter load times, making it even easier to play it. Additionally, the game will include the fantastic English voice track that was made for the English-speaking markets.
If you’re playing on a PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X, you’ll also experience even better load times, and a huge resolution bump, up to full 4K 30FPS or 2K resolution at 60FPS. If you’re playing on an Xbox Series S, you can play in WQHD resolution at 30FPS or Full HD+ at 60FPS. SEGA made it a point to say that if you’re playing on Xbox One, the loading times will be the same as they are on PlayStation 4, so there is not much there.
We’re just about a month out from the release of Yakuza: Like a Dragon International in Japan, and with the next-gen systems being a major focus for all developers right now, I would expect to see the graphical updates hit international shores shortly after.
